Debut album “The Farthest Reaches” is the perfect solution for every ‘more than technical’ fan! Sterile sound (in a good way!) or VERY selective, as some may say, makes this album very specialistic. Every note is intensively exposed to daylight and believe me, there’s lot’s and lot’s of notes. You could say there’s overwhelming, technical feeling but that’s the way it should be. You can’t blame them of being too technical – that’s the virtuosic mastery in here.

Oh, there’s one more thing worth mentioning. The album lyrical theme is greek mythology. Pretty new ‘thing’ in technical death (or am I wrong?). Get it as soon as possible!

“The Farthest Reaches” tracklist:
1. Mercy For Today
2. Let Them Hate and Fear
3. The Farthest Reaches
4. Olympus is Forgotten
5. Facing the Gorgon
6. Pandora’s Burden
7. A Champion Reborn
8. Mycordial Infarction
9. The Calm
10. A Good Death
11. The First, the Serpent

From the begining there’s lot’s of genuine technicality and solo virtuosity. Perfect sound, amazing, deep feel and catchy, yet brutal brain-grinding. “Polarity” kicks hard in the ass. And when You thought that in technical death metal can’t do nothing more or fresh… take a look again at this American lads! Pure technical hell! I love it!

Illogicist is a violent sonic combination of technical ability, rhythmic asymetry, melodic sickness and lyrical frustration created to reflect a dynamic and emotional vision of suffering and introspection. Illogicists inner core was born in summer 1997 as a project of guitarist Luca Minieri and drummer Remy Curtaz. Their immediate goal was to write music capable to reflect their own artistical direction, and to find strong musicians to complete the line-up. In the meanwhile bassist Roberto Zeppa was joining the band and the trio began finalizing music for its debut release. A few weeks before the studio sessions, former Nefarium guitarist Fabio Filippone was joining the ranks, completing the now-four-piece line-up. Polymorphism Of Death, recorded at One Voice Studio with Daniele Giordana, represents the first official output by Illogicist.

After recording POD Roberto Zeppa and Fabio Filippone left the band. Diego Ambrosi (guitar) and Emilio Dattolo (bass) joined the band and the line-up became stronger and stable. New music was written in order to increase sonic violence and technical intent, and after a long period of reharsal and some live gigs, Illogicist started a new recording session at One Voice Studio in late October 2002. The result of this session was a new mcd titled Dissonant Perspectives.

After a strong promotion in the italian uderground scene, mainly accomplished with live performances, Illogicist signed a deal for his debut full-lenght album with the american label Crash Music Inc, ex Pavement Music. Remy Curtaz came back behind drums after a short time of absence, new songs were written and the band realised a new recording session in november 2003 at Luca Minieris own Dissonant Studio. After recording session the band flew to Helsinki in December 2003 to mix and master at legendary Finnvox Studios, with Mikko Karmila and Mika Jussila, the album titled Subjected, released by Crash Music Inc. in July 2004.

After hiring new drummer Sergio Ponti the band played extensively around Italy and Europe in gigs and festivals with bands like Dismember and the like. The band, now in a stable and powerful line-up, is currently writing the music for its second album, whose recording sessions will take place in January 2007.

Biography:

Spawn of Possession rose from the ashes of various constellations in Feb. `97, consisting of Jonas Bryssling (guitar), Jonas Karlsson (guitar) and Dennis Röndum (drums). The whole idea of the band was to create brutal and sick music that went beyond all that had been done before in death metal history!

After three years of dedicated song writing the band went to record their first demo, “The Forbidden”, which got nothing but great responses and earned the band a respectful name in the death metal community world wide! Right after the release of “The Forbidden” the band found bass player Nick Dewerud to fill the empty bass spot the band had suffered from since the start! A year later the band once again laid siege to the studio to record their second demo, “Church of Deviance” which got praised in every review it faced and in Dec.2001 Spawn of Possession signed a deal with Unique Leader Records.

Spawn of Possession worked extremely hard on new material for the next six months and in June 2002 the recording of the debut album, “Cabinet”, commenced! The band ended up in Pama Studios together with the highly acclaimed producer/engineer Magnus Sedenberg with whom they had worked on previous recordings. The recording, mixing and mastering of Cabinet went smooth and the final result followed up the band’s expectations for a complete satisfaction!

With nothing but great press and a rapidly growing name it was now time to start supporting their release live. First off was a 4 week European tour together with Disavowed, Vile, Inhume and Mangled. The tour was a major success and opened up a lot of new doors for the band. Shortly after returning home the next tour offer was knocking on the door. A six week North American tour together with Unique Leader label mates, Severed Savior, Pyaemia and Gorgasm. Traveling coast to coast including a five gigs ride to Canada, Spawn of Possession executed no less than 27 shows on this tour. Needless to say, this was of course a huge step up for the band.

After coming back from the US tour Spawn of Possession was fortunate enough to be able to do another tour, this time as a part of the annual No Mercy package in Europe, with bands such as Cannibal Corpse, Hypocrisy, Kataklysm, Exhumed, Vomitory and Carpathian Forest. The tour consisted of 14 shows, playing in front of 600 to 1500 people a night at some of the biggest club venues in Europe. After this spring-tour summerfestival offers kept poring in having the band perform at 8 festivals including Fuck The Commerce (Germany), Stonehenge (The Netherlands), Grind You Mother (Italy) and Mountains of Death (Switzerland).

During this period and the beginning of fall 2004 Spawn of Possession also started to work on new material. In mid September the writing however got interrupted as the band joined Cannibal Corpse as direct support on a 24 show tour throughout Scandinavia and the Baltic/eastern European states. This was without a doubt one of the strongest tours up to date leaving the band with a new good tour experience and dozens of new recruits to the Spawn of Possession fan base.

After coming back from that tour, Spawn of Possession focused entierly on the new material. and in january 2006 they entered Pama Studios once again and recorded their second full-lenght album entitled Noctambulant. In May-June same year they did a European tour with Hate Eternal, Shadows Land and Fall of Serenity.
Biography:

NEURAXIS was formed in 1994 in Montreal, Canada and since their inception, NEURAXIS has forged a unique identity combining sheer brutality with a melodic and progressive edge.

The 1997 debut “Imagery” showcased the band’s early death/grind approach. 2001 brought “A Passage Into Forlorn”, successfully introducing a more melodic and progressive side of extreme metal in the NEURAXIS arsenal. With 2002′s “Truth Beyond…”, NEURAXIS raised the bar with a dizzying amount of brutality, melody and technicality. All three albums were released in Canada (Galy Records), the US (Willowtip Records) and Europe (Earache Records) and several tours throughout North America and Europe were completed and established NEURAXIS as a jaw-dropping live act.

With 2005′s “Trilateral Progression”, the band’s songwriting displayed a maturity and complexity while maintaining a triumphant melodic edge that both baffled and laid waste to many contemporaries. “Trilateral Progression” was hailed as an articulate model for challenging technical death metal that rejects commercial trends and successfully balances a majestic sense of melody with go-for-the-throat aggression. 2005 to 2007 was a very busy two years for the band, having performed over 150 live shows. To celebrate these events, “Live Progression” was released on Galy Records, the band’s first ever live album, in 2007. “Live Progression” captures NEURAXIS‘ neck-breaking live show after a logging tour experience throughout North America, Europe and Japan. NEURAXIS will unleash a new monument of extremity through Prosthetic Records come 2008.

Biography:

NECROPHAGIST was founded in early 1992 to integrate the fury of grinding, fast death metal with progressive music. Shortly after the band formed they entered the studio and recorded their first demo tape entitled ‘Requiems of Festered Gore.’ ‘Requiems of Festered Gore’ was never released to the masses as it was sent out solely for promotional reasons in an attempt to help the band secure gigs.

In 1995, NECROPHAGIST re-entered the studio and recorded a self-titled, follow-up demo. The demo’s impact sent shock waves through the European underground death metal scene, which helped NECROPHAGIST not only establish their gruesome name, but allowed the band to play numerous shows all over Europe. Soon NECROPHAGIST was recognized as one of the leading bands in the growing underground progressive/technical death metal scene.

In 1999, NECROPHAGIST recorded their self-released, full-length debut ‘Onset of Putrefaction.’ Despite the limited number of copies that were made, ‘Onset of Putrefaction’ only solidified the growing reputation that NECROPHAGIST had started with their self-titled demo. Soon, NECROPHAGIST became the standard for progressive death metal. Uniting influences from different styles, including classical music, ‘Onset of Putrefaction’ showcased NECROPHAGIST’s demanding dexterity, inhuman brutality and fury.

With ‘Onset of Putrefaction’ NECROPHAGIST reanimated the brutal death metal genre that many had left for dead. ‘Onset of Putrefaction’ actually became an influence for hordes of young musicians and fledgling European death metal bands. The overwhelming response to ‘Onset of Putrefaction’ helped NECROPHAGIST secure highly sought after support slots with such extreme music luminaries as CANNIBAL CORPSE, NAPALM DEATH and SINISTER. This attention further blossomed into NECROPHAGIST’s appearance at numerous festivals, including the Fuck The Commerce in Germany, the legendary Brutal Assault in the Czech Republic and the Maryland Deathfest in the United States.

Now in 2004, NECROPHAGIST have signed to Relapse Records and are prepared to unleash the crushing ‘Epitaph’ on a pitiful and unsuspecting world. Once again NECROPHAGIST have pushed the boundaries of technical and progressive Death Metal to new heights, setting an extreme standard by which others will follow. NECROPHAGIST have quite literally gone where no band has gone before…

Necrophagist’s debut album from 1999 that’s been out of print for years and desperately wanted by so many. This is no simple re-print, it’s a completely new edition. The band was waiting for this day to unleash the complete fury of the compositions, which the band believed to be lost to some extent due to technical restrictions in terms of gear back in 1999. The new edition includes:
- Completely new drum samples recorded piece by piece by Necrophagist’s Hannes Grossmann. The samples were then used to feed the drumcomputer.
- The old guitar, bass and vocal tracks being reincarnated and joined with the freshly fed drumcomputer, all mixed down into a powerful, crisp and clear stereo track.
- 2 previously unreleased songs from the self-titled 1995 demotape being added as bonus tracks.
- A powerful mastering by Christoph Brandes at The Iguana Studios.
- Whole new artwork.
